We were lucky to acquire it from a lovely Private estate in the South of France near Marseille!This mantel clock is made of the finest Carrara marble with bronze gilt ornaments.The clock dates from the third quarter of the 19th C. (c.1855).The style of this marvelous mantel clock is Renaissance and the bronze gilt is in a gorgeous condition.Good running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell.The movement is driving on a spring suspension!The porcelain dial with arabic numerals and brass hands are fantastic! On top of the clock there is a young lady who feed the birds.On the left side there is garland with flowers.The dial is protected by a little door with a bent glass .The back plate of the movement is stamped with "Vincenti-1855-Medaille d'Argent( Silver Medal)". Jaques Vincenti was a very famous clock maker in France at that time.This mantel clock is everywhere, and on every chimney or board an absolutely eye catcher, and a real collector piece that you will never get again.The dimensions are: Height: 10,5 Inches!! ,Width: 8 Inches and Depth: 4,5 Inches.No matter where you place this fantastic mantel clock everyone will be begging to know where you got such an outstanding clock and where they can get one like it!This is a very nice and gorgeous antique mantelclock for the collector or someone wanting an unusual mantel clock that no one else has !!
